- A: You may obtain an insurance certificate by completing the Customer Request form or by calling our Customer service Dept.please allow 48 hours for processing.
- Q: I have service scheduled, but now I don't need it. How do I cancel the service call?
- A: You can cancel the service call by contacting our Customer Service Department at 1-888-HAUTECH.
- Q: I lost my pass code/code word. How do I access my account?
- A: Residential customers can obtain their pass code/or code word by completing the Customer Request form or by calling 1.888.HAUTECH. Upon request, your pass code/ or code word will be mailed within 48 business hours to your physical address.
Commercial customers can request a pass code/ or code word change by faxing the request on company letterhead with the signature of an authorized representative to 1-514-344-0779After verification, the pass code/ or code word will be changed.
- Q: Am I required to get a permit to operate an alarm system?
- A: Each city or county jurisdiction is different. You can check with your city and local ordinances. Ultimately, if a permit is required, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to stay current on the annual permit renewal requirements, and notify HAUTECH of the permit number (if required) and the annual expiration date.
- Q: Why is it important that I test my system?
- A: Testing your alarm system ensures proper operation and communication with our 24HR. Monitoring Center. In order to test the entire system, each component or zone must be tested individually. Please call HAUTECH at 1-888- HAUTECH, and one of our Customer Service representatives will give you instructions on how to test your system. To avoid false alarms, you must notify the 24hr. Monitoring Center when you will be testing your system to prevent the alarm monitoring station from dispatching authorities to respond to the alarm signal.
- Q:Why do you always ask for a pass code/ or code word when my alarm goes off?

- A: A24hr.Monitoring System is that when a supervisedsecurity systemis activated, it is connected to a Monitoring Station via the phone line. If a detector goes off while the system is activated, the phone line automatically sends a signal to our U.L.C. 24hr.Monitoring Station.
- Q: Is an Alarm System connected directly to a police station?
- A: No the Alarm System is connected toHAUTECH U.L.C. Certified 24hr. Monitoring Station andthe Operators on duty confirms each alarm signal and determines how to respond based on the situation (check for false alarm or call the fire department, police, or emergency etc.. as required ).
- Q: What are the responsibilities of HAUTECH and the 24hr. Monitoring Center?
- A: HAUTECH takes care of selling, installing, maintaining, and repairing security system components and handles customer service. The monitoring center dispatchers receive, process and follow up on the various alarm signals received.
- Q: What is ULC certification?
- A: ULC stands for Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (www.ulc.ca). ULC certification indicates that a product or system has been evaluated and tested for compliance under the ULC Canadian standards.
- Q: Can I use my Alarm System even if I have a pet?
